Just what I needed. Good selection of healthy options. Nice little family owned place that's been around forever.....
Enjoyed a great breakfast while reading the Sunday paper. The host was friendly and the whole place was squeeky clean.
Arrived at 8am on a Saturday and found the place empty. The waitress was helpful and took our order at the front counter. I had the green omelette and my GF had the breakfast burrito. Both meals were great with plenty of flavor and not too salty. The restaurant filled up while we ate. They have a day old basket of pastries and received fresh pastries around 830am. I will definitely be eating here again.
Stopped in for an iced nutella latte, got the new guy making it, so it took a minute, but the latte was delicious!
Delicious and well priced. Cinnamon french toast was very tasty and blueberry pancakes as big as your face.
We had a wonderful lunch here today. I had a turkey panini and chicken noodle soup. I think it was the best sandwich I've had in as long as I can remember. This inviting, clean, and professional restaurant was a wonderful break in our winter travels around the Boundary Waters area. We really enjoyed the high quality hot tea also!
Absolutely amazing. The food. The service. The prices. We will come back again and again!
Very friendly staff!! Good food, and super nice atmosphere! Had a very enjoyable time here with my girlfriend.
Great place for great food. We've ate here multiple times for breakfast and it's always great. Personally I love the Hippie Hash and the Cranberry will rice today. Plus the coffee is solid.
Great sandwiches, soup and coffee drinks. Nice selection of sandwiches, wraps, burgers and quesadillas. Staff was very accommodating when asked to make a drink that they didn't have on the menu (and it was delicious). They were friendly and very familiar with the area to make recommendations for outdoor activities.
Dog friendly! Not many places to eat in Ely that welcome dogs. Great patio. The staff even brought our dog a dish of water. Great food. Generous portions. We couldn't even finish the stuffed crispy hash browns and the breakfast quesadilla. The feta and fresh veggies were great in the hash browns. Friendly staff helped me make a decision on what to get based on her personal favorite. Strong self served coffee brewed fresh. Country music on the radio. Great breakfast spot for sure. Looking forward to trying their lunch menu (from the other posted reviews I can see the lunch menu starts at noon). Food is ordered at the counter and then brought to the table when ready. We will definitely be back!
Really great burgers and wraps. Will be back
Almost all of the tables were dirty. There were two people working. They "don't do allergies" whatever that means. So, for my son who has multiple food allergies they told us so sorry without even hearing what his allergens were. Fortunately we packed a lunch for him but I would not recommend this place nor would I go back.
Fantastic food and perfect service, why go anywhere else to eat while your in Ely?!
Arrived on time with the maternal unit, was seated promptly (plentiful and unaffected seating space indoors and out). In seeking breakfast, we had come from the chocolate moose, having been told there that they no longer serve breakfast. We were delighted with the breakfast we found at taste! Fresh, balanced ingredients with no over-greasing/oiling. I added bacon to the farmer quesadilla and ma had the lake one plate. She fiendishly tore into the cranberry wild rice toast like a red snapper unto the bait.
YUM
Gross.... disappointed big time.
Good menu. Wonderful wild rice salad and specialty grilled cheese. Along w a nice selection of craft beers and wines. Staff was very attentive and fast service. Great atmosphere.
The coffee is great. It's quiet and cozy and the food is really good. I had the Ultimate breakfast burrito and it was full of meat veggies and egg. We come here at least once anytime we're in Ely. There's an art gallery on the second floor called "The Loft." They feature local artists. It's nice addition to the eating experience.
Came in at 11:30 for lunch and after 15 minutes of sittimg at a table waiting for someone to wait on us they told us they couldn't serve lunch until 12:00 on the dot... we waited the extra 15 minites until they could serve us food and then after we ordered our food which was a burger and a sandwich it took them 45 minutes to get it to us. Overall not a good experience. Food was alright. We will never come back here again.
We were there on a Sunday noonish. They would only serve a sandwich once it turned 12. Found this out after waiting 15 minutes for someone to wait on us.
Line was long. Still worth the effort. Staff was great, restrooms clean. And coffee strong.
Hippie hash breakfast for lunch. Come hungry there's a lot on the platter!
A little disorganized. But the staff was extra friendly, especially to the kids. Breakfast was above par, prices seem reasonable. I had expected with a name like A Taste of Ely that it would have more local food cuisine.
Good breakfast. You pay at the counter then sit. Near nice shops. Friendly staff, good prices. I'd go back.
Great place, food & service! The coffee rocks!
The food was tasty and the staff were quite friendly. Prices were good. Lunch isn't served until 12 though. Later than expected. But the French Onion Soup was worth it!
